Prior to working in the insurance industry, Karen was the president of Garrett Interiors, Inc., an interior design company specializing in model home merchandising as well as residential, commercial and hospitality interior design. With domestic and global sales revenue topping $7 million in 2007, her unprecedented success with Garrett got her named “Top 50 Women in Business” by the Pacific Business Times in November 2006 and an accommodation by Assemblywoman Audra Strickland.

In the years preceding Garrett Interiors, Mrs. Dry brought two other companies from obscurity to fruition with sales in excess of $28MM, an advertising specialties firm as well as a lithographic printing company, both of which she sold to NYSE companies.

Belonging to over 17 associations, many of which she has chaired or participated on valued committees, Karen considers her involvement with associations a key part of her success as a leader in the community.   She is a public speaker, having authored and created over 50 seminars that promote leadership development.  Overall, Karen works diligently for the advancement and empowerment of women in all industry, advocating each to educate themselves fully within their career and community.

She and her husband, Rick, reside in Thousand Oaks with their five children.
